Heart Rate Monitor
Posted by: | Comments
I first decided to get a heart rate monitor after reading Marty Gallagher’s book the Purposeful Primitive. I have been using it a lot in my training lately, this video details a little bit on how.
A common question I get is “how many calories do you burn using kettlebells?”
Obviously there are a lot of factors involved, but in the, I show you how many calories i burned in a singles session of Hardstyle Kettlebell Swings.
1607 in one hour and three and a half minutes.
This rate of burn is TYPICAL for me. I do this 4-5 times each week from 20-75 minutes and the number of calories oxidized is consistently between 24 and 28 per minute.
And the winners are….

Congrats to PJ for coming in first place and winning 6 months of class at Nashville Kettlebell!!
Second place was a tie between Katie (who has lost 60lbs since January) and Amanda (who lost a total of 13 inches in 12 weeks), so the only fair thing for me to do is give BOTH of them BOTH prizes. This means they will each receive the kettlebell of their choice and a massage.
Congrats and great work all around.
Living Social
Posted by: | CommentsA couple of weeks ago we ran a deal with Living Social. A bunch of folks bought the deal which is one month of living Social exclusive classes. This means the Living Social people will get their own class at a separate time form the regular classes at Nashville Kettlebell.
The idea from my here is to get all the new folks together at the same time and give them a good, thorough introduction to Nashville Kettlebell and the RKC school of strength. Then if we all decide that we have a good fit, they can move into the regular class times.
The Living Social class times will be posted on the Schedule Page at the main Nashville Kettlebell website. Within a few weeks I plan to have some new online scheduling options in place as well.
Old and New

You can too. Nashville Kettlebell.
